The Manufacturing Quality Engineer role involves developing cutting-edge manufacturing and quality processes for AI compute, storage, and networking hardware. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring quality of hardware deployed to Lambda's data centers
  • Implementing an ODM model for system and rack level hardware development
  • Implementing a comprehensive QMS system
  • Collaborating with various teams to manage hardware configurations and BOMs
  • Building end-to-end processes for manufacturing management
  • Partnering with data center operations for RMA processes
  • Using statistical analysis to improve manufacturing processes

The ideal candidate should have:

  • BS in Electrical, Computer, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience
  • Deep understanding of AI, compute, storage, and/or networking hardware
  • Experience in product development, manufacturing processes, and quality practices
  • Proficiency in quality tools like six sigma, SPC, and FMEA

Responsibilities For Manufacturing Quality Engineer

  • Ensure the quality of AI, compute, storage, network, and rack hardware deployed to Lambda's data centers
  • Implement an ODM model to develop system and rack level hardware
  • Implement a comprehensive QMS system to track quality throughout the lifecycle of a product
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and supply chain to understand hardware configurations and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Build end to end processes to manage the manufacturing process
  • Partner with data center operations to drive the RMA process
  • Use statistical analysis to evaluate manufacturing processes for improvement

Requirements For Manufacturing Quality Engineer

  • BS in Electrical, Computer, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of manufacturing quality experience
  • Deep understanding of AI, compute, storage, and/or networking hardware
  • Experience in product development, manufacturing processes, quality practices and debug of compute, storage, network, and/or AI hardware
  • Experience in system (server) manufacturing and rack level integration
  • Experience implementing manufacturing tests in an ODM/CM environment
  • Experience presenting performance metrics and quality trends to executive leadership
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as six sigma, statistical process control (SPC), and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA)
  • Knowledge of MES, PLM, and other supply chain/manufacturing software
