Description For Bench Test Engineer

Latitude AI, a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, is at the forefront of developing automated driving technology for next-generation Ford vehicles. As a Bench Test Engineer, you'll join a dynamic team responsible for building and maintaining the critical test bench ecosystem that ensures software quality before deployment to vehicle fleets.

The role combines embedded systems expertise with test automation, requiring proficiency in Python, Linux, and various communication protocols. Based in one of our engineering centers in Pittsburgh, Dearborn, or Palo Alto, you'll be part of a cross-functional team that includes bench operations engineers, design verification engineers, and autonomy integration specialists. Responsibilities For Bench Test Engineer

  • Support development of next generation test bench architectures and designs
  • Develop and improve continuous integration pipelines and failure reporting
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software system integration issues
  • Develop and maintain test asset software tools and infrastructure
  • Maintain test asset requirements, configuration, and reliability processes
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and lead technical projects
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders to accomplish test objectives

Requirements For Bench Test Engineer

Python
Linux
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field
  • 5+ years of technical experience
  • Experience with Python and/or C++ programming languages
  • Experience with Jenkins pipelines troubleshooting
  • Experience in low level communications interfaces and protocols
  • Experience working with Embedded Linux
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to write concise, clear, and detailed engineering documentation
