Description For Senior Software Engineer, Software Deploy

Latitude AI (lat.ai) is an automated driving technology company developing a hands-free, eyes-off driver assist system for next-generation Ford vehicles at scale. We're driven by the opportunity to reimagine what it's like to drive and make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable for everyone.

When you join the Latitude team, you'll work alongside leading experts across machine learning and robotics, cloud platforms, mapping, sensors and compute systems, test operations, systems and safety engineering – all dedicated to making a real, positive impact on the driving experience for millions of people.

As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Latitude is headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, Mich., and Palo Alto, Calif.

The Latitude AI Software Deploy team provides solutions for deploying autonomy applications and operating systems to the fleet. We also play a crucial role in the process of developing over the air update systems and in-vehicle agents that coordinate the software update process across Linux based and embedded machines. Our goal is to deploy this software rapidly and safely to prototypes, benches, and production vehicles.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Software Deploy, you will:

  • Architect, design, and implement novel, state-of-the-art solutions for software updates, both for our development fleet and ultimately over-the-air to production fleets
  • Develop production quality, highly performant software in a fast-paced, autonomous environment while maintaining a strong safety culture
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams that build software in embedded, test, functional safety, and vehicle systems related realms
  • Develop products in the autonomous driving space that deploy operating systems, embedded firmware, and other software required for self driving applications
  • Communicate design decisions, implementation improvements and project progress within your team and across the organization
  • Write automated tests and metrics to improve and validate performance
