Description For Software Engineer II, Labeling

Latitude AI (lat.ai) is an automated driving technology company developing a hands-free, eyes-off driver assist system for next-generation Ford vehicles at scale. We're driven by the opportunity to reimagine what it's like to drive and make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable for everyone.

When you join the Latitude team, you'll work alongside leading experts across machine learning and robotics, cloud platforms, mapping, sensors and compute systems, test operations, systems and safety engineering – all dedicated to making a real, positive impact on the driving experience for millions of people.

As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Latitude is headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, Mich., and Palo Alto, Calif.

The Labeling team is part of the Intelligent Systems organization responsible for tools and services for providing labeled "ground truth" log data used for model training and evaluation. Our services include a data pipeline for media extraction and processing, orchestration of human labeling operations, custom web-based tools for viewing and editing labeled log data, metrics, monitoring, validation and data discovery. Endless exciting challenges exist as we develop new, innovative tools and services that incorporate, visualize, manipulate and interact with both human and machine-generated labels.

As a Software Engineer II in the Labeling team, you will:

  • Use languages including Python to build our large scale data labeling services, and Typescript to build our frontend web tools
  • Implement automated testing of code, including unit tests, integration tests and end-to-end testing
  • Build upon a suite of automated data validations which are designed to improve dataset quality
  • Automate infrastructure to test, validate, and graduate product releases using Jenkins, Terraform, and Kubernetes
  • Implement strong product quality, performance, and security practices
  • Build metrics and dashboards to track operational health and dataset characteristics
  • Investigate new approaches and technologies that can be leveraged for next generation solutions

Join our team to design and develop rich data labeling services to accelerate our innovation in ML development lifecycles.
