We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team supporting U.S. Army and Department of Defense operations. This role combines hands-on security operations with compliance management, requiring expertise in both technical security implementations and regulatory frameworks. The position is based at Fort Belvoir, VA, and requires an active Secret clearance.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and responding to security incidents using SIEM tools, conducting vulnerability assessments, and implementing robust security measures. A significant portion of the role involves ensuring FISMA compliance, including maintaining system security documentation and performing security control assessments.

Responsibilities For Cybersecurity Engineer (Secret Cleared)

  • Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents in a SOC environment using SIEM tools
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
  • Develop and implement security measures to protect systems, networks, and data
  • Perform incident response, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery
  • Ensure systems comply with FISMA requirements
  • Develop and maintain system security documentation
  • Perform security control assessments and audits
  • Provide cybersecurity training and guidance to team members
  • Work with Army or DoD stakeholders, providing technical expertise

Requirements For Cybersecurity Engineer (Secret Cleared)

  • Active Secret clearance or higher
  • Experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) operations
  • Knowledge of Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes
  • Knowledge of Army-specific cybersecurity policies and standards
  • Experience with SIEM tools and monitoring platforms
