We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the security infrastructure of our organization's network. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS). This role involves proactive monitoring, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing security measures to safeguard the organization's information and systems from cyber threats.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage network security systems using Cisco FMC1000, FMC-VMware, Cisco ISE, and IPS to ensure the protection of the organization's network infrastructure.
- Monitor and manage security events using Cisco FMC and IPS tools, identifying potential threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalous activity.
- Develop and enforce security policies for network devices and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Configure and administer Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) devices and associated security policies within Cisco FMC platforms.
- Integrate and manage Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to enforce secure access controls, authentication, and authorization policies for the organization's network.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability testing, and penetration testing to identify areas of risk and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network security issues, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of network systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and enhance the organization's security posture, including IT infrastructure, compliance, and operations teams.
- Document and maintain detailed security configurations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
This role is fully onsite in Washington DC. Due to Government Contract and Regulations, all viable candidates must have an Active Top Secret or TS/SCI Security Clearance.
