Network Design Engineer

Leaseweb is seeking a passionate Network Design Engineer to join their global team. As a Network Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and managing complex network infrastructures, optimizing internet connectivity for hosting and cloud services worldwide. You'll work on protecting customers against malicious internet traffic like DDoS attacks.

The role involves:

• Designing and managing large, complex network infrastructures
• Developing tailored network setups for customers
• Offering pre-sales support with customized solutions
• Traffic engineering to optimize quality and costs
• Advising management on strategic network developments
• Supporting incident resolution
• Coaching Network Engineers

Key responsibilities include:

• Active role in designing and ensuring continued development of network infrastructure and services
• Managing associated systems and tools
• Optimizing end-user experience for Leaseweb's services
• Working with a global Internet backbone connected to >4000 networks
• Managing connectivity across >50 Data Centers and Points-of-Presence in Europe, the US, and Asia

The ideal candidate will have:

• 7+ years of professional experience with BGP, MPLS, and Cisco IOS
• 3+ years of professional experience with 1 RIR
• Work experience with peering and internet exchanges
• CCIE and/or JNCIE work experience
• CCNP, CCDP, or CCIP certification
• Excellent communication skills and team player attitude
• Fluency in English (Dutch is an advantage)
