Controls Software Engineer

Leupold & Stevens, Inc. is a prestigious American manufacturer with over 100 years of experience in producing high-quality optics and riflescopes for hunters, shooters, law enforcement, and military personnel. They are seeking a Controls Software Engineer to join their Production Maintenance department and Automation engineering team.

The role focuses on upgrading legacy controls in the production assembly department and supporting new equipment development. As a Controls Software Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of manufacturing innovation, working with cutting-edge technology to design, develop, and implement PLC software and control systems. Your responsibilities will include writing and debugging PLC programs, developing HMI applications, and configuring industrial communication networks.

The position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a dedicated automation team in a collaborative environment, designing and implementing custom automation tools for manufacturing, assembling, aligning, and inspecting complex optomechanical systems. You'll be involved in system integration, retrofitting existing control systems, and providing technical support to production and maintenance teams.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and 5+ years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience with electrical systems are essential.
