As a Photonics Engineer at Lightmatter, you'll be instrumental in designing and developing photonic systems that are crucial to their innovative products. The position requires a PhD holder with 3-10 years of industry experience, strong knowledge of photonic device physics, and experience with integrated silicon photonics components. Responsibilities For Photonics Engineer

  • Design high-performance photonics devices suitable for high-volume manufacturing
  • Collaborate across disciplines with analog, digital, and physical design teams
  • Work with photonics test team in defining requirements for device characterization
  • Analyze characterization data to ensure device/system meets specifications
  • Engage in problem solving and contributing with novel architectural ideas
  • Publish novel ideas related to photonics and participate in conferences

Requirements For Photonics Engineer

  • PhD in EECS, Physics, or related discipline with 3-10 years of industry experience
  • Knowledge of photonic device physics
  • Experience with PDK and Cadence environments
  • Track record of design integrated silicon photonics components
  • Experience with characterization, analysis and model fitting of photonic devices
  • Experience with Verilog-A for photonics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong publication record in the photonics field
