Description For Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Systems

This innovative technology enables the connection of thousands to millions of processors at the speed of light in extreme-scale data centers, catering to the most advanced AI and HPC workloads.

As a Software Engineer at Lightmatter, you'll be part of a team that's reinventing the future of computing with light. Your role will involve developing and extending the device-software and firmware stack for Photonic Compute and Photonic interconnect products. You'll collaborate with software and hardware systems teams to implement security, telemetry, and remote administration functionality.

Key responsibilities include enhancing DataCenter administration capabilities using environments like OpenBMC and Redfish, managing link configuration and maintenance for optical networking in ML data center environments, overseeing secure device bring-up for first silicon, and developing diagnostics/monitoring capabilities.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer/software engineering or electrical engineering, with 8+ years of industry experience in device driver and kernel side development. Experience with OpenBMC is a must, along with knowledge of DMTF standards and PLDM. You should have a solid understanding of computer architecture, hardware-software integration, and firmware development for various microcontrollers/architectures.

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Systems

Requirements For Senior Software Engineer - Embedded Systems

Python
  • BS or higher in computer/software engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of industry experience with device driver and kernel side development
  • Must have experience with OpenBMC
  • Experience with DMTF standards, and PLDM
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and hardware-software integration
  • Experience in firmware development in one or more of the following microcontrollers/architectures: RISC-V, PIC32 / MIPS, Arm, STM
  • Practical knowledge on communication and control in embedded systems in one or more of the following: MDIO, PCIe, SMBus / I2C, SPI, USB, JTAG
  • Experience with developing commercial/enterprise level software and firmware
