Lightmatter, a revolutionary company in AI data center infrastructure, is seeking a Silicon Photonics Test Development Engineer to join their innovative team. The company has recently raised $400 million in Series D funding, reaching a $4.4 billion valuation, and is pioneering the world's first 3D-stacked photonics engine, Passage™.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of developing and architecting wafer and package level characterization/test strategies for Lightmatter's cutting-edge Silicon Photonic product line. You'll work directly with architecture and design teams, influencing the development of silicon photonics technologies while being part of a growing interdisciplinary team.

The position requires a strong background in photonics, with at least 8 years of experience in silicon photonics test development. You'll be responsible for architecting test concepts, creating detailed test plans, developing test software, and working with various teams to ensure successful implementation and validation of photonic technologies.

Responsibilities For Silicon Photonics Test Development Engineer

  • Work directly with architecture and design teams to understand technology and conceptualize characterization techniques
  • Architect test concepts, test platforms, and design for test rules
  • Create detailed test plan documentation and ensure timely execution
  • Define, develop, and setup wafer and package level tests for silicon photonics products
  • Develop test software for execution, data analysis, and parameter extraction
  • Work with vendors to specify and procure test equipment
  • Setup and operate optical equipment
  • Engage with silicon and platform validation teams
  • Help enable reliability teams for pre and post stress test needs
  • Keep up to date with Silicon Photonics technology and testability

Requirements For Silicon Photonics Test Development Engineer

Python
  • Master's in Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 8+ years of proven experience in silicon photonics test development
  • 2 years of experience leading testing efforts
  • Understanding of photonic integrated components and circuits
  • Hands on lab experience in optoelectronics testing
  • Experience working with design teams to define test cells
  • Experience working with industry standard photonics test equipment
  • Experience in Python for test automation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts
