As a Staff Design/Release Engineer in the Power Systems team, you'll play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge vehicle design and manufacturing. Your responsibilities include creating and owning requirements documents for power systems modules, collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless integration, and making key architectural decisions. You'll work on components like on-board chargers, DC-DC converters, and electric drive units, ensuring they meet all functional, product, and technical requirements. This role demands a strong background in electric vehicle HV systems and the ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines. Responsibilities For Staff Design/Release Engineer

  • Create and own the requirements documents for various sourced power systems modules
  • Collaborate with product and marketing teams to distill functional and product requirements into technical requirements
  • Work with vehicle engineering team to package and mount all components in CAD
  • Conduct design and manufacturability reviews
  • Support DFMEA and HARA activities
  • Work with finance and vehicle attributes teams to set cost and mass targets
  • Execute supplier sourcing activities for power systems modules
  • Work with internal integration and test teams to validate functions and requirements in prototype vehicles
  • Create detailed timelines and development plans

Requirements For Staff Design/Release Engineer

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in electric vehicle HV systems, as a design engineer, DRE or systems engineer
  • Familiarity with electric vehicle systems, such as junction boxes, on-board chargers, HV batteries, traction inverters and power distribution systems
  • Experience creating system requirements documents, and working with suppliers to ensure components meet these requirements
  • Experience in full product development cycle: requirements definition, concept design, development, test, manufacturing, and sustaining
  • Experience creating, updating, and releasing CAD models and drawings
