Lightship is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join their team in developing an all-electric recreational vehicle. The ideal candidate will be comfortable designing, building, and testing control and communication circuitry. This role demands a scrappy and hands-on approach in the program's early stages, with a willingness to evolve as the program moves into production. The Staff Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership, work closely with the software team, and help accelerate the path to market with an exceptional vehicle that redefines RVing.
Key responsibilities include creating board requirements, electrical component analysis and selection, designing main control and interface circuitry, supporting PCB design, bench testing and validating completed PCBAs, collaborating with the software team, developing and executing test suites, supporting integration testing and supplier management, and providing technical mentorship to a growing team of engineers.
The ideal candidate should have a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years of experience as an electrical design engineer, excellent knowledge of electrical schematics and control circuitry, and proven experience in microprocessor and associated peripheral design. They should also be familiar with communication hardware interfaces, circuit simulation, and PCB layout tools like Altium.
