Description For Staff DevOps Engineer

Lilt, a pioneering AI solution provider for enterprise translations, is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to join their global team. Founded by former Google Translate team members, Lilt has established itself as a leader in AI-powered translation services, serving notable clients like Intel, ASICS, and Canva.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, including a Contextual AI Engine similar to ChatGPT and Google Translate. As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining highly reliable software systems across multiple regions, working with both cloud (GCP, AWS) and bare-metal Linux deployments.

The position requires a seasoned professional with at least 6 years of experience in DevOps or system administration. You'll be working with modern technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, requiring expertise in monitoring, security, and maintaining high-availability systems.

Responsibilities For Staff DevOps Engineer

  • Support technical operations in development and production systems
  • Deliver infrastructure engineering projects
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to deliver software
  • Secure platform infrastructure and harden on-premise builds
  • Ensure high uptime and multi-regional server/DB performance
  • Work with engineering teams on SLIs and SLOs for SLAs
  • Contribute to infrastructure and engineering roadmap planning
  • Execute roadmap in sprints following SCRUM practices
  • Implement new technologies in InfoSec, DevOps and Site Reliability
  • Support self-managed customers on-site
  • Technically lead a group of subject-matter experts

Requirements For Staff DevOps Engineer

  • Minimum 6 years experience as Linux System Administrator or DevOps Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, Bash)
  • High proficiency with infrastructure as code tools, preferably Terraform
  • Experience with GCP services
  • Solid understanding of Docker and orchestration frameworks
  • Expertise in monitoring/alerting and maintaining production availability
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and concepts
