AI Engineering Manager - Foundational AI Data

LinkedIn's Core AI organization is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their foundational AI data initiatives. This role sits at the heart of LinkedIn's AI innovation, focusing on addressing fundamental AI challenges and driving next-generation AI-driven member experiences.

The position involves leading a team of 5-10 data infrastructure and machine learning engineers, with the crucial responsibility of building a foundational data platform. This platform will unify all textualized member profile, activity, and graph data across LinkedIn into a canonical format, while ensuring privacy and policy compliance. The role requires expertise in massive scale data preparation, nearline and offline serving, quality control, and data selection.

As an Engineering Manager, you'll be working in LinkedIn's hybrid work environment, based in Sunnyvale, CA. The role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring both deep technical expertise and strong leadership skills. You'll collaborate across various teams including Product, Applications, Infrastructure, and Vertical AI teams to align initiatives and leverage existing solutions.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of industry experience in software design and development, with at least 1 year of management experience or staff-level engineering experience. A strong technical foundation in data engineering, data modeling, and machine learning is essential.
