Engineer, Data Center (OR)

LinkedIn is seeking a Data Center Engineer with experience working in a production environment with 10000+ servers. As part of the global Data Center Engineering team, you'll ensure the data center stays online and healthy. Your responsibilities include hardware deployments, acting as an escalation point for contracted employees, and assisting Senior Data Center Engineers with network, storage, and server node deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Racking, cabling, and initial configuration of management network devices and console switches
• Reviewing and escalating break-fix tickets
• Quality control for network and server cabinet deployments
• Executing build readiness tools and remediating Linux Kickstart issues
• Troubleshooting dark fiber and network issues at regional POPs
• Managing server decommissioning process
• Monitoring and acting on electrical infrastructure faults
• Providing monthly "site health" metrics reports
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams on hardware installations

Required Skills:

• 1+ years of experience in a Data Center Engineering Role
• Linux troubleshooting experience
• Server hardware troubleshooting experience
• Physical layer network troubleshooting experience

Preferred Skills:

• Network troubleshooting
• Project management skills
• Experience in large organizations and interdependent team dynamics
• Scripting in BASH and/or Python

This role offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $140,000, plus potential annual performance bonuses, stock options, and comprehensive benefits. The position is based in Hillsboro, OR, and requires full-time physical presence in the office.
