Manager, Software Engineering

LinkedIn is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to join their Media Infra organization, leading the Media Services team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a team of 7 engineers working on critical infrastructure that directly impacts member experience. The position involves overseeing Java MPs that interact with native tools like FFmpeg, OpenCV, ImageMagick, and PDFBox.

The role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring both deep engineering expertise and strong leadership skills. You'll be responsible for scaling distributed applications, making architectural decisions, and ensuring high-quality deliverables while managing team performance and career development.

As a manager, you'll work closely with senior management to develop long-term technology roadmaps and collaborate across teams to leverage shared technical stacks. The position requires expertise in developing multi-tier scalable applications that operate 24/7, with a focus on performance and reliability.
