Senior Engineer, Data Center (VA)

LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network, is seeking a Senior Data Center Engineer for their Manassas, VA location. This role is integral to maintaining and optimizing LinkedIn's critical data center infrastructure.

The position focuses on DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) engineering, involving the evaluation, installation, and maintenance of data collection and power distribution systems. You'll be responsible for managing thousands of rack power distribution units, busway power monitors, and sensor deployments.

As a Senior Engineer, you'll work with various teams to maintain the accuracy of DCIM tools, sensors, and underlying power and cooling infrastructure. The role requires expertise in industrial controls, critical environments, and infrastructure maintenance programs.

Key responsibilities include configuring power strips and busway monitors, working with Building Management Systems (BMS), collaborating with third-party monitoring applications, and developing processes for infrastructure management. You'll also provide technical support, deploy software improvements, and handle critical engineering issues.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments, strong technical documentation skills, and professional certifications in DCIM/BMS applications. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred, though equivalent experience is accepted.
