Senior Network Engineer (Ashburn,VA)

LinkedIn is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join their System Infrastructure team in Ashburn, VA. This role focuses on architecting, designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructures for data centers and DCI optical networks.

The position involves ensuring seamless connectivity, security, and reliability within campus and across global data center networks. You'll be developing tools and automating processes to support hyper-growth while serving as a technical leader within the team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and improving network architectures, designs, and automated provisioning
• Managing large-scale data center infrastructure and backbone across multiple regions
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with business objectives
• Conducting network maintenance and upgrades
• Developing automation solutions for deployments and fault remediation
• Ensuring network security and compliance
• Participating in on-call rotation and incident response

The ideal candidate will have:

• BA/BS in a technical field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in network/data center engineering
• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, RDMA)
• Programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages
• Experience with Kubernetes and host networking
• Knowledge of network congestion control solutions
• Familiarity with network management and configuration tools
