LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Systems and Infrastructure team. This hybrid role can be based in Mountain View, CA, San Francisco, CA, or Bellevue, WA.
As a key member of our world-class software engineering team, you'll be at the forefront of building LinkedIn's next-generation infrastructure and platforms. This includes working on critical systems such as application and service delivery platforms, compute platforms, massively scalable data storage and replication systems, cutting-edge search platforms, AI platforms, experimentation platforms, and privacy and compliance platforms.
You'll have the opportunity to work with and learn from industry experts while leveraging your expertise in distributed technologies, algorithms, API design, and systems design. LinkedIn has a strong track record of pioneering open-source infrastructure projects like Apache Kafka, Pinot, Azkaban, Samza, Venice, Datahub, and Feather. We also work extensively with industry-standard open source infrastructure products like Kubernetes, GRPC, and GraphQL.
The role requires a strong foundation in software engineering with at least 2 years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions. You should be proficient in object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, Rust, or functional languages like Scala. Hands-on experience with distributed systems, large-scale systems, and backend APIs is essential.
Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems, participating in code reviews, mentoring other engineers, and working closely with the open-source community. You'll collaborate with peers and leads to define scope, prioritize features, and maintain high development standards.
