Senior Software Engineering Manager, Systems Infrastructure

LinkedIn is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager for their Systems Infrastructure team in Bangalore, India. This is a hybrid role where you'll have the flexibility to work both from home and the office. As part of LinkedIn's world-class software engineering team, you'll be responsible for building next-generation infrastructure and platforms, including application and service delivery platforms, massively scalable data storage systems, cutting-edge search platforms, AI platforms, experimentation platforms, and privacy/compliance platforms.

The role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring both deep technical expertise in distributed systems and strong leadership capabilities. You'll be working with technologies like Apache Kafka, Pinot, Azkaban, Samza, Venice, Datahub, and Feather - many of which are LinkedIn's well-known open-source contributions to the tech community. The position also involves collaboration with industry standard open source infrastructure products like Kubernetes, GRPC and GraphQL.

As a leader, you'll be responsible for managing team performance, career development, and coaching engineers while maintaining a strong focus on technical excellence. You'll participate in strategic planning with senior management, make critical architectural decisions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions that operate 24/7.

The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years of industry experience in software design and development, with 3+ years in technical management. You should be well-versed in object-oriented and functional programming, with hands-on experience in distributed systems, databases, and large-scale data systems.
