Sr. Staff Software Engineer, AI Platform

LinkedIn is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer to join their AI Platform team, focusing on scaling LinkedIn's AI model training, feature engineering, and serving infrastructure. The role involves working with cutting-edge AI technologies, including large language models and recommendation systems, with models containing hundreds of billions of parameters. You'll be responsible for optimizing performance across algorithms, AI frameworks, data infrastructure, and hardware, managing a GPU fleet with thousands of latest-generation cards.

The team has deep connections to the open source community, with many team members being active contributors to projects like TensorFlow, Horovod, Ray, vLLM, Huggingface, and DeepSpeed. You'll have the opportunity to influence and contribute to these projects while working on LinkedIn's AI infrastructure.

Key focus areas include:

• Model Training Infrastructure: Building next-gen training infrastructure for AI use cases, optimizing data I/O, enabling distributed training for 100B+ parameter models
• Feature Engineering: Creating state-of-the-art feature platforms for AI users across online/offline/nearline environments
• Model Serving Infrastructure: Developing low-latency applications serving large & complex models with high performance
• MLOps: Leading AI metadata, observability, orchestration, and experimentation systems
