As a Staff Engineer in Site Reliability at LinkedIn, you'll be part of the Traffic SRE team, responsible for delivering LinkedIn products and services to over 1 Billion members. You'll work on a massive infrastructure that serves Millions of requests per second, developing and managing Layer 4 and Layer 7 network proxies, load balancers, service discovery, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines.

Your role will involve:

  • Being the primary point of contact for the health, performance, and capacity of Internet-facing services
  • Gaining deep knowledge of complex applications
  • Developing and deploying new features and installations
  • Creating tools for rapid deployment and effective monitoring in a large-scale Linux environment
  • Collaborating with partner teams to ensure platform operability
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment
  • Participating in 24x7 rotation for second-tier escalations

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience with Linux at scale
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Go, C/C++, Python, Rust, or Java
  • Experience with reverse proxies, load balancers, TCP/IP networking
  • Knowledge of data structures, databases, Linux internals, and web architecture
