Staff Software Engineer - Compute Infrastructure

LinkedIn is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Compute Infrastructure team, specifically working on the LinkedIn Kubernetes Infrastructure. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-profile, high-impact project that will touch every aspect of the engineering organization.

As a staff member, you will be responsible for:

• Owning the technical strategy for broad or complex requirements
• Designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems
• Improving observability and understandability of various systems
• Communicating with team members, partners, and stakeholders
• Mentoring other engineers and defining the technical culture
• Driving innovation while iteratively building and shipping software at scale
• Diagnosing technical problems and debugging in production environments

The ideal candidate will have:

• 8+ years of relevant work experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Experience in architecting, building, and running large-scale distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with the Kubernetes ecosystem
• Experience with Kubernetes controller development and automating cluster management
• Golang coding experience
• Familiarity with technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, GraphQL, GRPC, Apache Kafka, etc.

This role offers a hybrid work option, allowing you to work both from home and commute to a LinkedIn office. The position can be based in Mountain View, CA, San Francisco, CA, or Bellevue, WA.
