VP1, Development Engineering

LinkedIn is seeking a Vice President to lead their Data Infrastructure organization, a newly established division responsible for all aspects of data across LinkedIn. This role will oversee five major engineering verticals: Data Processing and Pipelines (DPP), Data Management, Tracking - Telemetry Platform, Unified Metrics Platform (UMP), and DARWIN (Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Workbench at LinkedIn) and Data in Motion.

The position requires leading a team of over 400 world-class engineers, developing scalable, high-performance data infrastructure to support real-time data processing, analytics, and AI initiatives. The VP will be responsible for defining and implementing data strategies spanning stream and batch processing, compute engines, data ingestion, data movement, data management, data lake, while ensuring efficient data discovery, cataloging, compliance, and access controls.

The position offers competitive compensation ($298,000 - $488,000) plus benefits including equity, annual bonus, and comprehensive healthcare.

The work arrangement is hybrid, combining remote work with office presence at LinkedIn's facilities. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of software engineering management experience, preferably with VP-level experience at consumer technology or infrastructure companies. They should demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities, technical depth in managing large-scale infrastructure, and a strong track record of attracting and developing top engineering talent.
