Description For Cloud Database Engineer II

LivePerson, the global leader in enterprise conversations, is seeking a Cloud Database Engineer II to join their growing team. This role is crucial in evolving database and data storage systems to support the company's rapid growth.

As a Cloud Database Engineer II, you will:

  • Design and architect new highly-available and fault-tolerant cloud-based databases
  • Redesign existing systems for improved performance
  • Collaborate with the team on complex solutions
  • Investigate and solve challenging problems across distributed architectures
  • Proactively address capacity issues and limit the impact of cluster stress
  • Work with database clients to optimize queries and evolve data models
  • Advocate for solutions that balance quality and delivery speed
  • Automate database infrastructure and provide self-service tools

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience building production software systems
  • Experience with MySQL, Cassandra, Couchbase, Elasticsearch, and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with distributed event streaming platforms, especially Kafka
  • Experience with distributed persistent systems and asynchronous messaging
  • Ability to tune distributed systems for high-volume performance
  • Proven remote work capabilities in a global team environment
