Description For Database Reliability Engineer II

LivePerson, the global leader in enterprise conversations, is seeking a Database Engineer II to join their growing team. This role is crucial in evolving database and data storage systems to support the company's rapid growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and architecting new highly-available and fault-tolerant cloud-based databases
  • Redesigning existing systems for improved performance
  • Investigating complex problems across distributed architectures
  • Proposing solutions to stay ahead of capacity issues
  • Working with database clients to optimize queries and evolve data models
  • Advocating for solutions that balance quality and delivery speed
  • Automating database infrastructure and providing self-service tools

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience building production software systems
  • Experience with MySQL, Cassandra, Couchbase, Elasticsearch, and NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with distributed event streaming platforms, especially Kafka
  • Experience managing database systems in a hybrid cloud environment
  • Strong skills in creating scalable, fault-tolerant architectures
  • Proven ability to work remotely with a global team
