Description For Roadway Design Project Engineer

Lochmueller Group, a distinguished regional engineering consulting firm specializing in infrastructure, is seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join their Roadway/Highway Design team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work from any of their Indiana offices in a hybrid work environment.

The position requires a Professional Engineer with 4-7 years of experience in LPA and/or INDOT roadway design projects. As a Roadway Design Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for various aspects of transportation infrastructure projects, from planning and execution to coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities For Roadway Design Project Engineer

  • Work on DOT and/or LPA roadway/highway projects
  • Support project managers in planning and execution of engineering projects
  • Assist in preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules
  • Conduct engineering analysis and design for assigned projects
  • Design complete projects and prepare project documents
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Prepare and review project documentation, reports, and specifications
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • May assign work to junior engineers and technicians
  • May be involved in mentorship of junior level staff

Requirements For Roadway Design Project Engineer

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 4-7 years of relevant civil engineering experience
  • Proficiency with project scheduling tools and software
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Valid Driver's License
