Lochmueller Group, a 100% employee-owned regional engineering consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Roadway/Highway Design Project Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of relevant experience, a PE license, and strong technical skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities For Roadway Design Project Engineer

  • Serving as a project engineer in planning and execution of local agency and DOT roadway design projects
  • Assisting in preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules
  • Conducting engineering analysis and design
  • Preparing and reviewing project documentation, reports, and specifications
  • Applying engineering techniques, methods, and design criteria
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Collaborating with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Assigning work to junior engineers or other staff
  • Project management (depending on experience level)

Requirements For Roadway Design Project Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar engineering field
  • 5+ years of relevant roadway/highway design engineering experience
  • Experience working on SCDOT roadway design projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a remote work environment
