Description For Water Resources Project Engineer

This senior-level position focuses on managing and executing water infrastructure projects, including wastewater, drinking water, and stormwater initiatives.

Responsibilities For Water Resources Project Engineer

  • Work as a project engineer and/or project manager for wastewater, drinking water, and stormwater projects
  • May supervise work groups which include engineers and/or technicians
  • Ensure project designs are in conformance with the latest design specifications
  • Perform design quantity computations and checks
  • Plans, schedules, or coordinates the preparation of documents or activities for projects
  • Provide mentorship to junior level staff
  • Understand and work with surveying data provided from survey department
  • Read and interpret schematic and construction plans
  • Apply specification regulations, policies and standards to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local rules
  • Review operational practices to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures

Requirements For Water Resources Project Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or other applicable engineering field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 7+ years of experience in this discipline
  • Experience as project engineer or project manager for wastewater, drinking water, and/or stormwater design projects
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
