Machine Learning Engineer

Loka, Inc is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join their remote team. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects for Silicon Valley startups and Life Science giants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistical, ML, and deep learning algorithms, with experience in deploying and maintaining ML models and pipelines.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analyzing errors of models and designing strategies to overcome them
• Deploying, maintaining, and upgrading ML models and pipelines
• Working with a modern tech stack across different industries
• Collaborating in a fully remote, globally distributed team

The position requires:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years of ML engineering experience
• Proficiency in Python, ML libraries, and AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, HuggingFace, TensorFlow, etc.)
• Excellent English communication skills
• Clean criminal record

Bonus skills include experience with:

• Building GenAI solutions, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning and serving LLMs, search and embeddings
• MLOps, particularly in AWS (e.g., Sagemaker) and standard tools (e.g., MLFlow)
• Visualizing and manipulating big datasets
• NLP
