Description For Sr Engineer ME GA (Trim) - KAEC

Lucid Motors is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in KAEC, Saudi Arabia. This role involves working on the complete product and process lifecycle, from concept to large-scale manufacturing. The ideal candidate will interface with design engineering to review product designs for manufacturing feasibility in General Assembly, provide detailed assessments and critical Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews, and develop manufacturing equipment, conveyors, tools, and fixtures required for full production.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Translating high-level assembly goals into actionable design change requests
  • Developing and implementing datuming and dimensional control strategies
  • Conducting Virtual Build events to review assembly processes
  • Implementing Lean Manufacturing and error-proofing strategies
  • Providing GA impact/cost studies for design changes
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on manufacturing processes and capabilities
  • Creating and maintaining PFMEAs with Design and Quality teams
  • Mentoring and improving overall team manufacturing engineering skills

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience developing and launching complex assembly processes
  • Proficiency in creating written and pictorial documentation of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing demands under pressure
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint, proficiency with CATIA, and 3DX experience

Responsibilities For Sr Engineer ME GA (Trim) - KAEC

  • Interface with design engineering to review product designs for Manufacturing feasibility in General Assembly
  • Provide detailed assessments and critical Design for Manufacture (DFM) reviews of Product, Process and Tooling designs
  • Take product from concept to design to prototype and finally to manufacturing
  • Translate high level assembly goals & strategy into actionable design change requests
  • Develop and implement datuming and dimensional control strategies
  • Conduct Virtual Build events to review assembly process and requirements
  • Develop process documentation and complete PFMEA's and Quality Control Plans
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and error proofing strategies, validate load paths, tool access and ergonomics
  • Provide GA impact/cost study for the program on the design changes or unique design directions
  • Assess in-house manufacturing capabilities and implement new processes and/or equipment
  • Implement and expand concepts such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, etc.
  • Collaborate with all levels of engineering in the development of new ideas
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams and manufacturing engineers
  • Work with Design and Quality on PFMEA creation and maintenance
  • Mentor and improve overall team manufacturing engineering skills
  • Provide detailed engineering fundamental reasons to executive team about manufacturing decisions

Requirements For Sr Engineer ME GA (Trim) - KAEC

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering)
  • 5+ years of related experience developing and launching complex assembly processes
  • Extensive proficiency creating written and pictorial documentation of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work independently with concepts and documentation from prototype to sustaining activities
  • Work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments
  • Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize information to a general understanding
  • Communicate clearly using written and verbal skills
  • Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with CATIA, 3DX experience
