Responsibilities For Power Electronics Engineer
- Create product level features, design, and vision
- Design power electronic systems from 10W – 10kW, DC/DC converters, offline isolated power supplies, and inverters
- Create verification and validation test plans
- Bring up and testing of systems to validate functionality
- Work across functions with mechanical, thermal, reliability, and firmware engineering
- Own power conversion system from specification through manufacturing
Requirements For Power Electronics Engineer
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5 years' experience in power electronics design (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred)
- Understanding of active and passive component losses in power conversion
- Experience designing high efficiency power converters with wide bandgap devices
- Knowledge of various topologies and ability to analyze, select, and design
- Familiarity with magnetics design and specification
- EMC design and optimization expertise
- Strong lab skills with working knowledge of power conversion test tools
- Ability to design schematics and conduct layout design
