Description For Lead Flight Test Engineer

Mach Industries is seeking a Lead Flight Test Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial in the development and testing of UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) platforms. The ideal candidate will specialize in flight test engineering, operations, and testing of developing UAS aircraft.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Central coordination for flight test operations
  • Informing the engineering team on key requirements for systems checks and data systems
  • Building out test infrastructure at primary test sites and outfitting test equipment
  • Conducting and leading the team through testing workflows
  • Constructing program flight test campaigns with system, GNC, and energetics engineers
  • Coordinating and planning flight test demos
  • Performing safety analysis and maintaining company safety policies

The role requires an engineering degree (unless significant relevant experience can be demonstrated) and a minimum of 5 years in related aerospace, preferably with UAS flight test engineering experience. The ideal candidate should be self-led, passionate about building flight test capability, and willing to be in the field regularly for 1-3 days and travel to various test ranges.
