Description For Material Controls Engineer

Mach Industries is a defense manufacturing company backed by $85M in funding, specializing in building advanced munitions for the United States Department of Defense. We're seeking a Material Controls Engineer to join our team in Huntington Beach.

The role involves overseeing end-to-end production processes, working with MES/ERP/MRP systems to manage production schedules and material requirements. You'll be responsible for coordinating between engineering, supply chain, and production teams to ensure smooth operations.

As our Material Controls Engineer, you'll manage production flows, maintain schedules, handle inventory management, and work on system optimizations. The position requires strong technical expertise in ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing processes, combined with excellent problem-solving abilities.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of supply chain or manufacturing experience, with at least 3 years working with MRP/ERP systems. You'll need to be detail-oriented, capable of managing complex systems, and skilled at cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities For Material Controls Engineer

  • Own and manage the end-to-end production flow, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards
  • Maintain production schedules through coordination of planning and shortage management
  • Support internal logistics processes through innovative staging workflow of materials
  • Perform and organize kitting, de-kitting, and inventory management
  • Validate and assist in the conversion of engineering BOMs to manufacturing BOMs
  • Reconcile BOMs, monitor material conformity, and ensure proper documentation
  • Assess and optimize MES/ERP/MRP systems for production planning
  • Collaborate on ERP/MES system stand-up and maintenance
  • Drive system and process enhancements
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align material requirements

Requirements For Material Controls Engineer

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 5+ years of supply chain, inventory, or manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years of experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and MES
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP/MES systems and their interdependencies
  • Experience in production planning, material management, and supply chain processes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement
  • Ability to bridge communication gaps and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
