Summer Intern 2025 - Mechanical Engineer

Mach offers an advanced engineering internship program with hands-on opportunities to design and build cutting-edge autonomous defense systems. Interns play a crucial role in the development of innovative solutions for complex systems. The internship is mentored by industry experts to solve challenging real-world engineering problems across various teams. This is a 12-week internship at the HQ based in Huntington Beach, CA.

Role Summary: Mach is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to contribute to the development of advanced weapons systems, focusing on structures and manufacturing. This role demands deep technical skills in CAD and finite element analysis, as well as a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing techniques like machining, composites, 3D printing, and casting.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in mechanical engineering or related disciplines
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Huntington Beach, CA
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Preferred Qualifications:

• GPA of 3.5 or above
• 6+ months experience of application of technical skills outside the classroom
• Proficiency in Solidworks, NX, or similar CAD software
• Expertise in finite element analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic startup environment
