Description For Staff Data Engineer (Mailchimp)

Mailchimp, now part of Intuit's global financial technology platform, is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join their Data Products team. This role is crucial in building capabilities on their BI platform that enables team members across the company to make better data-driven decisions. The position involves working with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and surface data meaningfully across tools and teams.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing complex data capabilities, building robust data pipelines, and managing data models in tools like Looker. You'll work with various technologies including GCP, Python, and modern data warehouse solutions like BigQuery. The role requires both technical expertise and business acumen to understand and solve complex data challenges.

  • Implement the hardest part of data capabilities to provide a world class data platform
  • Partner with teams and third parties to understand needs and develop end-to-end data solutions
  • Build robust batch and streaming pipelines for data warehouse integration
  • Build scalable transformation pipelines for data cleaning, normalization, and governance
  • Manage and model data in Looker for collaborative data analytics
  • Build tools and processes for proper data accessibility
  • Become a subject matter expert on Mailchimp datasets and tools
