Description For Staff Enterprise Automation & Integration Engineer

As an IT Systems Engineer on the BT Automations and Integrations team at Marqeta, you will provide impact by supporting business and technology innovation that drives the organization's top and bottom lines. This role is ideal for a software developer who naturally leans towards being a generalist, offering a rare opportunity to leverage your skills to their fullest. You'll deliver innovative solutions that delight internal customers and influence improvements for the products sold to end customers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Using iPaaS technologies and code to deliver scalable, reliable, secure, and optimized SaaS-SaaS solutions
  • Building MVP solutions and using data to frame narratives
  • Developing a working understanding of varied internal processes and workstreams
  • Fostering good working relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Working with different, potentially unfamiliar technologies
  • Clearly articulating vision, strategy, and plans to both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Attending workshops with vendors to draw insights and ideas

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 8+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience with a modern iPaaS (e.g., Workato, Okta Workflows, Tines)
  • Experience with REST APIs and event-driven design patterns
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • In-depth knowledge of identity, authentication, and authorization concepts
  • Hands-on experience with AWS offerings
  • Experience integrating services with Slack, including building custom apps and Slackbots
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Passion for solving internal scaling problems and automation
