Description For Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineer (EC&I)

Marshalls PLC, the UK's leading hard landscaping manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join their Group Engineering Services (GES) team. This hybrid role, based in Halifax, England, offers an excellent salary and benefits package.

The EC&I Engineer will be responsible for projects across the UK, supporting the delivery of engineering solutions ranging from small site support to multi-million-pound strategic business projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering safe, robust engineering designs and solutions
  • Participating in project scope, design, and planning meetings
  • Evaluating equipment safety and PUWER compliance
  • Owning front-end engineering design work (FEED)
  • Managing EC&I elements of project planning and delivery
  • Providing technical support for business-critical engineering issues
  • Identifying and developing new technologies and work practice improvements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in at least one EC&I discipline
  • Experience working in a pressurized manufacturing environment
  • In-depth understanding of applicable standards
  • Ability to produce technically correct and compliant design solutions
  • Project management skills

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Level 4 (HNC) or Level 5 (HND) electrical qualification
  • Experience in multiple EC&I disciplines
  • Understanding of automated control system design
  • Knowledge of Machinery Directive and Construction Design Management
