Description For Maintenance Engineer

Marshalls PLC, the UK's leading manufacturer of landscaping products, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for their St Ives Manufacturing site in Cambridgeshire. This role is part of an exciting expansion, as Marshalls has created the UK's first dual block plant, increasing manufacturing capacity by 200% and boosting product innovation.

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for cleaning and preparing concrete press tooling for various products manufactured at St Ives. Working on a dayshift pattern (7am - 4pm), the successful applicant will ensure tooling is cleaned and prepared to the correct specification, as well as collaborating with team members to set up and remove tooling on the presses.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to Health & Safety regulations and company policies
  • Meeting departmental and site KPIs
  • Promoting continuous improvement (CI) to enhance the department and site
  • Working 42 hours per week, Monday - Sunday

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Good understanding of environmental and health and safety issues
  • Practical hands-on approach
  • Recognised engineering qualification in a mechanical discipline at NVQ 2
  • Significant experience in plant maintenance
  • FLT experience
  • Welding ability (ARC or MIG)
  • Problem-solving skills for maintenance issues
