Description For Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Marshalls PLC, the UK's leading hard landscaping manufacturer since the 1890s and a FTSE 250 company, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for their Falkirk production site. This role operates on rotating days and nights schedule for 42 hours per week, offering competitive salary with shift allowance and weekend overtime opportunities.

The position requires a skilled professional to maintain and optimize production processes, focusing on eliminating downtime through systematic fault finding and equipment maintenance. The engineer will work with complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding equipment, handling both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.

The ideal candidate should have formal mechanical qualifications, demonstrating expertise in electrical fault finding, mechanical fitting, and maintenance operations. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and environmental considerations is essential.

Responsibilities For Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

  • Ensure continuous running of the production process
  • Eliminate downtime through safe and logical approach to fault finding
  • Maintenance of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and welding
  • Carry out planned and reactive engineering activities on-site

Requirements For Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

  • Time served/apprentice trained with Mechanical qualifications (C&G 2320 P1 & P2, ONC, NVQ 3 or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Practical hands-on approach
  • Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance
  • Ability to interrogate and understand maintenance problems
  • Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics
