Description For Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Marshalls PLC, in partnership with Marley, is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for their Keele site. This role offers a competitive salary range of £41,945 to £48,287 including shift allowance, plus additional benefits. The position involves working on a Continental 4 on 4 off shift pattern (06:30 am – 6:30 pm and 6:30 pm – 06:30 am).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining site equipment and machinery, providing fault diagnosis both mechanically and electrically, and performing routine maintenance. Key responsibilities include executing Planned Preventative Maintenance, supporting breakdowns, managing documentation in SAP, and contributing to continuous improvement projects.

The successful candidate should have completed a relevant apprenticeship, hold electrical and mechanical qualifications, and have several years of experience in maintenance within a continuous process control industry. Essential skills include expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, fabricating, and basic electrical systems.

Responsibilities For Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

  • Maintaining all site equipment, machinery and associated services
  • Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance and provide input for improvement
  • Provide mechanical/electrical support for breakdowns
  • Work and liaise with internal departments and external suppliers
  • Complete work documentation in SAP with technical feedback
  • Contribute to feasibility studies, Capex and continuous improvement projects
  • Maintain workplace to high standards using 5s methodology
  • Prioritize workload and manage stock items with stores

Requirements For Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

  • Completed relevant recognized apprenticeship
  • Electrical and mechanical qualifications
  • Several years experience in maintenance within continuous process control industry
  • Good understanding of engineering principles
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, fabricating and basic electrical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
