Description For Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Nights)

Marshalls PLC, a prestigious FTSE 250 company and major supplier to the construction industry, is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for night shifts at their Ranskill site. As the only company to have paved every square on the Monopoly board, Marshalls has established itself as a symbol of quality in the construction industry, producing 120 million bricks annually.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled Operations team, where you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing complex production equipment. Working with sophisticated hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems, you'll ensure continuous production through both planned maintenance and reactive problem-solving.

The position requires a blend of mechanical and electrical expertise, with formal qualifications and hands-on experience in industrial maintenance. You'll work 42 hours per week on night shifts (10pm - 6am), playing a crucial role in maintaining plant efficiency and safety standards.

Responsibilities For Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Nights)

  • Ensure continuous running of production process
  • Eliminate downtime through fault finding and maintenance
  • Work on complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems
  • Carry out planned and reactive engineering activities
  • Contribute to safe operation of plant and equipment
  • Work night shift (10pm - 6am)

Requirements For Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Nights)

  • Good mechanical and electrical working knowledge and experience
  • Time served/apprentice trained with recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of the IEE 18th edition
  • Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues
  • Practical hands-on approach
  • Significant experience with maintenance of various plant equipment
  • Experience in electrical fault finding and maintenance
  • Ability to analyze maintenance problems
  • Excellent communication skills
