Marshmallow is seeking an Associate Backend Engineer to join their Claims Tech team. The role involves working on a cutting-edge internal Claims Management System (CMS) designed to streamline the claims process from inception to resolution. You'll be part of a distributed team between Budapest and London, focusing on revolutionizing the claims journey.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working in a product engineering team to enable efficient automation for tens of thousands of policies
- Participating in technical scoping, estimation, and briefs
- Collaborating closely with the product owner to understand requirements and build solutions
- Evolving the architecture to optimize for product delivery speed
- Participating in setting quarterly team OKRs
The ideal candidate should have:
- 2+ years hands-on experience with Java 8+ & Spring
- Commercial experience with microservices
- Commercial awareness of AWS
- Commercial experience with Terraform
- Self-starter attitude and ability to take ownership
- Organization skills and reliability
- Comfort with changing priorities
Tech stack includes Java 21 μServices, Spring Boot with Spring Cloud, DynamoDB, Terraform, Docker, AWS Fargate, and Event Sourcing.
