Senior Backend Engineer

Marshmallow is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Claims Tech Team. The role involves working on product builds from start to finish, solving challenges to help build fast and scale up. The Claims Tech Team is distributed between Budapest and London, with a focus on revolutionizing the claims journey. They are developing a cutting-edge internal Claims Management System (CMS) to guide insurance claims from inception to resolution.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working in a product team to enable efficient automation for tens of thousands of policies
• Managing and executing ambiguous technical solutions
• Creating and promoting efficiency and speed within the team
• Partnering with stakeholders to understand requirements and build solutions
• Developing, testing, and supporting systems in production

The ideal candidate should have:

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Expertise in Java and Spring
• Experience with developing and scaling complex microservices systems
• Skills in identifying, analyzing, and resolving system issues
• Experience mentoring junior team members

The tech stack includes Java 17 μServices, Spring Boot with Spring Cloud, MySQL, Terraform, Docker, AWS Fargate, and Event Sourcing.
