Mastercard is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Economics & Location team, focusing on delivering timely insights and forecasts through data analysis and modeling. The position involves working with the Economics & Location products team, which leverages Mastercard data to deliver insights and forecasts on macro- and microeconomic trends around sales performance across sectors, geographies, and channels. These insights serve as key indicators of industry performance based on actual, near real-time spend data.
As a Data Scientist, you'll be part of a cross-functional team including data scientists, data engineers, econometricians, and platform designers. Your responsibilities will include analyzing diverse datasets, developing new models and forecasts, designing outlier detection algorithms, and creating prototypes for new offerings. The role requires strong technical skills in SQL, Python or R, and experience with big data and time series analysis.
The ideal candidate should have 2-4 years of experience, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas to stakeholders.
