Material Bank, the world's largest material marketplace for the architecture and design industry, is expanding into B2C with DesignShop. We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build backend integrations for this new consumer-facing website. You'll work with cutting-edge technology, defining standards for integrations and shaping the developer experience through automation and CI/CD.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining our tech stack (Kafka, Airflow, WMS, Redshift, Commerce Tools)
- Establishing EA standards and governance frameworks
- Providing expert advice on integration technology and best practices
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and real-time messaging systems
- Managing resources and overseeing backend processes
We're looking for a self-motivated thought leader with:
- 5+ years in integration or data engineering
- Experience with Golang, Java, and SQL
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture and integration methods
- Expertise in solution design and vendor management
- Strong communication skills and passion for technology

Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer - Backend Integrations
- Develop and maintain the technology stack (Kafka, Airflow, WMS, Redshift, Commerce Tools & other 3P tools)
- Develop EA standards, data architecture standards, EA governance frameworks, and system integration standards
- Provide expert advice on integration technology and best practices
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for efficient updates
- Contribute to the integration of real-time messaging systems
- Work with project teams on integration strategies
- Manage internal and external team members
- Oversee development and support of batch and back-end processes
- Assist with incident response and troubleshooting
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer - Backend Integrations
- BA/BS degree preferred
- 5+ years of integration or data engineering experience
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture, systems architecture, integration architecture and data architecture
- Experience with Golang, Java and SQL
- Knowledge of common system integration methods and technologies
- Expertise in solution design and development, vendor management
- Experience with Continuous Integration practices and tooling
- Experience working with APIs from commercial software applications
- Excellent communication skills
