Description For End User Support Engineer

Maven, a leading proprietary trading firm, is seeking an End User Support Engineer to join their Core Infrastructure team. This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing the technology experience for all Maven employees. As part of the End User Support team, you'll be responsible for managing desktop environments, AV systems, and various office technologies.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced trading environment where you'll be the first line of IT support, coordinating with Core Infrastructure and development teams to resolve user requests and maintain productivity. You'll be handling everything from desktop configurations to employee moves and technology setups, ensuring all staff have the tools they need to succeed.

Responsibilities For End User Support Engineer

  • Manage the installation and configuration of desktop computing solutions
  • Provide first level support for the Windows and Linux desktop environments
  • Facilitate technology setups for new employees and role changes
  • Maintain AV and video conferencing technology throughout the office
  • Follow and update procedural documentation e.g. user onboarding
  • Maintain and update inventory of office IT equipment
  • Configure telephones, printers, and other common office technology
  • Work with external vendors and suppliers as required

Requirements For End User Support Engineer

Linux
  • Experience supporting Linux desktop environments
  • Experience supporting Windows desktop environments
  • Strong knowledge of Linux as a desktop Operating Systems (Ubuntu LTS preferred)
  • Familiarity with Linux in an Active Directory integrated environment
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office productivity software, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts: DHCP, DNS, cabling standards
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Excellent customer support
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently
  • Desire to learn new skills
