Meta is seeking an experienced Latam AI Policy Manager to spearhead AI-related public policy initiatives in the Latin America region. This strategic role combines technical AI expertise with public policy acumen, requiring deep engagement with governments, industry peers, developers, international institutions, and think tanks. The position demands a unique blend of technical knowledge and policy understanding to serve as the AI expert within the Latam Public Policy team.

The role involves becoming a subject matter expert in Meta's AI systems, including Llama and other platform offerings, while driving their adoption and fostering an open-source AI ecosystem. The successful candidate will bridge technical and policy perspectives, working closely with product teams and external stakeholders to shape AI initiatives with societal impact.

Key responsibilities include mastering Meta's AI architecture, engaging with product teams on technical feasibility, developing strategic initiatives for AI platform adoption, and representing Meta in external AI policy discussions. The position requires excellent communication skills to explain complex AI concepts to diverse audiences.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of experience in public policy or regulatory agencies with an AI focus, complemented by a strong educational background in a relevant field. Fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese is essential, as is a demonstrated understanding of Responsible AI development and its policy implications.

Responsibilities For AI Policy Manager, LATAM

  • Understand Meta's AI models and systems, open source architecture, frameworks, products and their underlying structure
  • Engage with product teams regarding feasibility of projects with technical and policy perspective
  • Define and execute strategy to drive adoption of Llama and other Meta's AI platform offerings
  • Work with developer communities, industry sectors, governments and key partners
  • Proactively communicate complex AI concepts to stakeholders and represent Meta in external forums

Requirements For AI Policy Manager, LATAM

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Public Policy, Political Science or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in public policy, government, or regulatory agencies with AI focus
  • Understanding of Responsible AI development, risk and mitigations
  • Experience communicating and presenting to technical and business audiences
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding AI technologies and public policy implications
  • Proven track record in communication with stakeholders
  • Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese
