Description For ASIC Engineer, Power

Meta is seeking an experienced ASIC Power Engineer to join their Infrastructure organization, focusing on power/performance optimizations from SOC Architecture to System level. This role combines hardware engineering expertise with software development, requiring deep knowledge of power architecture and management for complex disaggregated ASICs.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $173,000 to $249,000 annually, plus bonus and equity opportunities. Based in either Sunnyvale, CA or Austin, TX, this role is perfect for someone with extensive experience in power architecture and low-power design techniques.

As an ASIC Power Engineer, you'll be responsible for defining power specifications, developing modeling infrastructure, and optimizing designs for power efficiency. You'll work with cutting-edge technology in Meta's data center applications, collaborating with various teams including Architecture, Design, and Verification.

The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience with power architecture specification and modeling, strong programming skills in C++/Python, and experience with EDA tools. Knowledge of low-power design techniques such as clock-gating, power-gating, and DVFS is highly valued.

  • Work with Architecture and Design teams to assess power/performance tradeoffs
  • Define power specification at system and module level
  • Develop power modeling infrastructure in Python/C++
  • Work with architectural simulators for performance and power modeling
  • Build power estimation flows at various levels of abstraction
  • Optimize design for low-power with system level concepts
  • Power characterization on silicon
  • Partner with vendors for low-power requirements
  • Partner with EDA tool vendors
  • Collaborate with internal teams for power flows, optimization and estimation

Requirements For ASIC Engineer, Power

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field
  • 10+ years of experience with power arch specification, modeling, and design with C++/Python
  • Experience with EDA tools and scripting languages (Python, Tcl)
